Zé Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Leite in the 4th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmílson Gaspar in the 11th minute of play forced Sete de setembro's goalkeeper Zé Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sete de setembro's Zé Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Loyola in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute of the match Corti got a corner. Sete de setembro's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sidnei Correia ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, Corti's Edmílson Gaspar got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 19th minute, Edmílson Gaspar fired away a free kick at goal. It was hit a tad too hard, and went over the crossbar. If Edmílson Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 24th minute, Adriano Leite ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Gerber was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Zé Paulo Massa kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. The referee gave Corti a penalty, 34 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sidnei Correia, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sete de setembro's Zé Gerber. 0-3. Zé Gerber stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adriano Leite's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Ulisses Souza made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Charles Sá sent off a good shot on target. Sete de setembro's Zé Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Leite in the 41st minute of play. Adriano Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Gerber having to interfere. After the first half Corti were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adriano Leite made a kick off. Zé Gerber came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Corti's Edmílson Gaspar. But to his dismay, Edmílson Gaspar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. If Adriano Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Adriano Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zé Gerber stood somewhat misplaced when Angelo Loyola came free in front of goal and shot 0-5 to the left of him in the 57 minute. Sete de setembro's Franciszek Nienajadlo was substituted for Eron Alfaro. If Angelo Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, Sete de setembro's goalkeeper Zé Gerber had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adriano Leite. After 74 played minutes Sete de setembro got a freekick which was hit by Cesinha Ceresso. Adriano Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Gerber having to interfere. Adriano Leite took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zé Gerber. Zé Gerber dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. The supporters of Sete de setembro booed when Corti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the game, Corti's Adriano Leite nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Gerber made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. After 95 played minutes Sete de setembro got a freekick which was hit by Charles Sá. Corti's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
