Teresópolis F.C were furious when Luís Schmidt was red carded, 13 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Teresópolis F.C! Velcho Rolanski had in the 15thth minute some difficulties stopping Adalberto Custódio's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Velcho Rolanski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Campon, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Velcho Rolanski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clayton Sergi in the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Fred Viana reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tony Chaves. The goal made the score 1-3. 41 minutes into the game, SE Palestra Itália's Clayton Sergi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Velcho Rolanski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Bruno Campon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

51 minutes into the match, Teresópolis F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Betão Vargas came free, but Velcho Rolanski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute, Clayton Sergi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Velcho Rolanski was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. SE Palestra Itália's Bruno Dias was substituted for Caetano Félix. Bruno Campon charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bruno Campon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SE Palestra Itália's Bruno Campon got a free kick in the 64th minute. Tony Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Viana in the 66th minute of the match. If Fred Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Konstantin Gorobchenko kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Velcho Rolanski. That made the score 1-6 in the 80 minute of play. Teresópolis F.C's Michel Shevchenko was substituted for Lucjan Klewinski. In the 85th match minute, Teresópolis F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abelardo Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. Betão Vargas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Velcho Rolanski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristóvão Madureira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Velcho Rolanski having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, SE Palestra Itália's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo Carvalho came free, but Tony Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Chaves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abelardo Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. When the final whistle sounded SE Palestra Itália left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Teresópolis F.C.
