The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carlinhos Loureiro kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Matadores FC's Válbson Sarmento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Flávio Meira. That made the score 1-0 after 5 minutes of play. In the 9th minute, Matadores FC's Válbson Sarmento dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Flávio Meira was a little too slow when Dário Gerber got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 3-0. Thanks to some nice moves Nilton Fontes could shoot a difficult shot in the 16th minute, which Flávio Meira however easily saved by the left post. In the 25th minute, Dário Gerber fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Avanti PALESTRA's zone, Nilton Fontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flávio Meira came out of the goal and Nilton Fontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Dário Gerber managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matadores FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dário Gerber was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flávio Meira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 31st minute, Nilton Fontes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Matadores FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Nilton Fontes kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the game, Dário Gerber recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Flávio Meira. Dário Gerber showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-0. After some careless play in the Avanti PALESTRA defense, Válbson Sarmento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Flávio Meira. The Avanti PALESTRA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flávio Meira should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Dedê Sá kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Flávio Meira. That made the score 8-0 in the 47 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 8-0.

The wind increased when Nilton Fontes made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Válbson Sarmento made a precise shot to the right of Flávio Meira. Avanti PALESTRA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. When Matadores FC's Dário Gerber in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Avanti PALESTRA's goalie prevented a goal. Nilton Fontes scored 10-0 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Flávio Meira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Válbson Sarmento struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Flávio Meira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matadores FC. Flávio Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton Fontes in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Paulo José Ramalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 70 minutes into the game, Nilton Fontes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-0. Flávio Meira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Avanti PALESTRA's Flávio Meira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilton Fontes in the 76th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson Bueno in the 77th minute of play forced Avanti PALESTRA's goalkeeper Flávio Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flávio Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton Fontes in the 79th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Avanti PALESTRA's Paulo José Ramalho got a free kick in the 80th minute. Flávio Meira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Válbson Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. When Válbson Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Matadores FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válbson Sarmento couldn't finish the play. Nilton Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Válbson Sarmento scored 12-0 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Flávio Meira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hugo de Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Aloísio Abreu made a huge save. Matadores FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
