Antônio Carlos Leal lost his temper 17 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Grêmio FBPA - FDFDF a penalty, 19 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tiago Barreto, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Opera OMNES's Perivaldo Amaral. 1-2. In the 23rd minute, Raphael Gonçalves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Perivaldo Amaral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erasmo Costa to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Opera OMNES's Luiz Eduardo Sabóia got a free kick in the 54th minute. Perivaldo Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raphael Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Caco Britto scored 1-7 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Perivaldo Amaral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Opera OMNES's Perivaldo Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raphael Gonçalves in the 94th minute of play. In the 98th minute, Grêmio FBPA - FDFDF's Caco Britto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Perivaldo Amaral. Perivaldo Amaral yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-8. Grêmio FBPA - FDFDF's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
