To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8thth minute of the game Eliseu Fonseca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itaci's Marcelo Donatello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Eliseu Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saiko FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseu Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Donatello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eliseu Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Donatello having to interfere. After 13 minutes, Válbson Toscano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itaci and the Saiko FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Saiko FC booed when Itaci was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válbson Toscano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseu Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Marcelo Donatello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saiko FC. Válbson Toscano kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Josué Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Donatello having to interfere. After having played for 19 minutes, Eliseu Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saiko FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseu Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Walmir Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Marcelo Donatello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Naldo Mello's late challenge caught a Saiko FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Naldo Mello helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd minute, Naldo Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elói Pirani was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 25 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute there was a penalty for Saiko FC. Walmir Garcia stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Marcelo Donatello. 2-0. Eliseu Fonseca who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Marcelo Donatello when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some careless play in the Itaci defense, Eliseu Fonseca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcelo Donatello. The Itaci fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelo Donatello should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardinho Pena in the 34th minute of play forced Saiko FC's goalkeeper Zé Sabóia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Saiko FC's Eliseu Fonseca slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcelo Donatello. That made the score 4-0 after 35 minutes of play. 41 minutes into the game, Dênis Cosme threw the ball into play from the sideline. Saiko FC's Mateus Catarinense quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Marcelo Donatello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseu Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After a rather tough play, Saiko FC's Décio Dionísio got a free kick in the 86th minute. Eliseu Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelo Donatello read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. If Walmir Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 90 minutes, Eliseu Fonseca made it 9-0 with a short kick to the right side. Itaci's Marcelo Donatello tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
