After a rather tough play, Coelho FC's Panagiotis Abelas got a free kick in the 13th minute. 龚松川 was extremely unlucky when he, in the 14th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Paulo Renato Novaes made an important save on a dangerous shot by 龚松川 in the 21st minute. Paulo Renato Novaes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 龚松川 in the 23rd minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, 龚松川 notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Coelho FC's Paulo Renato Novaes. Paulo Renato Novaes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With his leg Paulo Renato Novaes managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Botafogo's Antônio de Almeida fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Coelho FC's Eriberto Linhares got a free kick in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodriguinho Hermes was the one to do the kick off. The Botafogo fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Botafogo's 龚松川 looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A sloppy throw-in by Geovânio Cabral in the 59th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Botafogo's Zézinho Marquez. In the 60th minute 肖远平 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that 龚松川's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Renato Novaes was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. In the 68thth minute of the game 龚松川 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coelho FC's Paulo Renato Novaes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jordi Puig made a great header on Coelho FC's corner, it was just that Botafogo's Manoel Lago managed to reach the ball for a save. 龚松川 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Paulo Renato Novaes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Renato Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 肖远平, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Coelho FC defense, 龚松川 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Renato Novaes. The Coelho FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Renato Novaes should have stopped the shot. Rodriguinho Hermes hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. 龚松川 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Renato Novaes having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Botafogo players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
