Dé Mello came out of the goal and Amedeo Faccio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Meriç Nurkan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Erasmo Yeste blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dé Mello having to make a save. Canarinho Atordoado's attentive Stayko Gorbanov managed to snatch the ball when Bobby Moore made a throw-in in the 24th minute of the game. Emílio Cordeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Mpenza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Mpenza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emílio Cordeiro having to make a save. Canarinho Atordoado's Dé Mello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Canarinho Atordoado from getting a goal against them.
