When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Paulo Renato Prestes put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Percy Fernandez. Sport Clube Recife's Nurkan Semdin was substituted for Doctor Strange. Gualter Penha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Vitinho Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vitinho Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter Penha in the 30th minute of play. Romário Aparecido who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Percy Fernandez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Romário Aparecido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Percy Fernandez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romário Aparecido in the 40th minute. When Sport Clube Recife's Gualter Penha in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. The audience was convinced that Gualter Penha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vitinho Sarmento was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Percy Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The throw-in from 庄升强 in the 65th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Sport Clube Recife's Knut Söderström. Vitinho Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dong Yang Bang in the 70th minute of the match. Gualter Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 84 minutes Risca Faca IMT's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dong Yang Bang who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Sport Clube Recife's Rain Bow to fire away a dangerous shot which Vitinho Sarmento despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Gualter Penha took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Vitinho Sarmento to make any attempt to save it.
