Percy Paiva was left in no man's land by his defense there! Scragbadun FC's Percy Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Scragbadun FC from getting a goal against them. Tomé Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the match, Arnaldo Lizer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Percy Paiva. Scragbadun FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnaldo Lizer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Scragbadun FC's Percy Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Scragbadun FC from getting a goal against them. Arnaldo Lizer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute, Waldemar Zachemski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Rodolfo Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Du Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy Paiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Scragbadun FC's Percy Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Costa in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th match minute, Du Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Castro to maneuver through the defense. Scragbadun FC's Tomé Araújo got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 44 played minutes Du Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Nemesio Clementi. After having played for 45 minutes, Tomé Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scragbadun FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomé Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the game, Tiaguinho Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Scragbadun FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Du Esporte Clube the free kick. Tiaguinho Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Paulo-Eduardo do Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Percy Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Percy Paiva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Rodolfo Castro came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Du Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodolfo Castro couldn't finish the play. Percy Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Costa in the 90th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Arnaldo Lizer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percy Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
