Jenipapo SC's Karl Pilgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronny Brenon in the 14th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Vinicio Junior had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vicente Linares. PiuPiu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vinicio Junior was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Karl Pilgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gísli Langnickel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute Ronny Brenon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Pilgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl Pilgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeff Hannemann in the 44th minute of play. The supporters of PiuPiu booed when Jenipapo SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gísli Langnickel scored 1-1 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karl Pilgren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

In the 97th minute, Ezequiel Soeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jenipapo SC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
