Aníbal Goiano hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Zico Maravilha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Max Graf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zico Maravilha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Misericordia EC's Max Graf threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Valdomiro Luz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Max Graf stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdomiro Luz's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Misericordia EC's Paulo Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruninho Arce in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Bruninho Arce cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Paulo Leão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 23 minutes into the match, C.A. RIBEIRÃO's goal looked a bit too open when Valdomiro Luz came free, but Max Graf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute Misericordia EC were awarded a corner. Sergio-Roberto Dinamite went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Misericordia EC's Aníbal Goiano to fire away a dangerous shot which Max Graf despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. C.A. RIBEIRÃO's Max Graf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zico Maravilha in the 28th minute of play. The supporters of Misericordia EC booed when C.A. RIBEIRÃO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dito Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute Bruninho Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sergio-Roberto Dinamite could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Max Graf made a huge save. In the 36thth minute of the game Bruninho Arce who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Misericordia EC's Paulo Leão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zico Maravilha in the 38th minute of play forced C.A. RIBEIRÃO's goalkeeper Max Graf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Max Graf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustão Terra, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute Oséas Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruninho Arce in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Max Graf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Misericordia EC's Aníbal Goiano got a free kick in the 57th minute. When Aníbal Goiano fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Misericordia EC's protests and gave Aníbal Goiano a yellow card for diving instead. Aníbal Goiano hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdomiro Luz in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Max Graf saved C.A. RIBEIRÃO from getting behind. Zico Maravilha struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Max Graf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Misericordia EC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruninho Arce in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo Leão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruninho Arce in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Leão saved Misericordia EC from getting behind. Bruninho Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rothem Čulen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 92nd minute of the match Aníbal Goiano completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Aníbal Goiano a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Paulo Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rothem Čulen in the 95th minute.
