The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-. The goalkeeper, Gino Tonić, was totally fooled by Wambalamba FC's Robin Steckamp, who 19 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Osvaldo Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Perivaldo Loyola was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 26th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ- booed when Wambalamba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andre-Yann Dospel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Vidmantas Ubartas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Vidmantas Ubartas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cris Courtois breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ- getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Vidmantas Ubartas hit a great ball. Brian Finnman might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gino Tonić. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Brian Finnman ran back to his position shaking his head. 37 minutes into the match, Wambalamba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Velin Golubarev came free, but Cris Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ- were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after Wambalamba FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Perivaldo Loyola took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Perivaldo Loyola got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cris Courtois quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gino Tonić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juarês Donato in the 41st minute of play. Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s Gino Tonić proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ- from getting a goal against them. Jacek Przybyciel hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Perivaldo Loyola blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cris Courtois having to make a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robin Steckamp to make the kick off. Velin Golubarev took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cris Courtois. Cris Courtois dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 55 played minutes Wambalamba FC got a freekick which was hit by Brian Finnman. After a rather tough play, Magic Canhotas FC -DMZ-'s Jerônimo Moreira got a free kick in the 57th minute. If Velin Golubarev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cris Courtois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Velin Golubarev in the 68th minute of the match. In the 70th minute João Carlos Vianna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gino Tonić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
