Fabinho dos Santos had several of the Vertiplano FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 9 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Iuri Silva as he didn't even see the shot coming. Fabinho dos Santos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iuri Silva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Club Athletico Paulistano's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Saad Dar in the 13th minute. Agnaldo Mattos made a great header on Club Athletico Paulistano's corner, it was just that Vertiplano FC's Iuri Silva managed to reach the ball for a save. Fabinho dos Santos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Iuri Silva came out and tried to block the shot, but Fabinho dos Santos slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 20th minute. After a rather tough play, Club Athletico Paulistano's Glauco da Rocha got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Acácio Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Hudson, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Fabinho dos Santos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Athletico Paulistano's Fabinho dos Santos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Iuri Silva. That made the score 4-0 after 32 minutes of play. The audience was convinced that Fabinho dos Santos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iuri Silva was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Acácio Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Hudson, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Club Athletico Paulistano's Fabinho dos Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Vertiplano FC's Iuri Silva got control of the ball when Fabinho dos Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabinho dos Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. Gugu Dantas kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, Paşa Mau threw the ball into play from the sideline. Club Athletico Paulistano's Glauco da Rocha quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After some careless play in the Club Athletico Paulistano defense, Chris Hudson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Acácio Lara. The Club Athletico Paulistano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Acácio Lara should have stopped the shot. Acácio Lara made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Edmílson Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Club Athletico Paulistano were victorious despite being under pressure from Vertiplano FC for much of the match.
