Breen John ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Abdulhamid Han managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. With a little luck, Vila Nova GO's Celsinho Capixaba got control of the ball when Eustacio Hotz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Celsinho Capixaba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eustacio Hotz went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Celsinho Capixaba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustacio Hotz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Heidemann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Marquez in the 19th minute of the match. Chupan Zorrilla made a great header on Heidemann FC - FSCMZ's corner, it was just that Vila Nova GO's Celsinho Capixaba managed to reach the ball for a save. After a rather tough play, Vila Nova GO's Dráusio Santos got a free kick in the 24th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Marquez in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Heidemann saved Heidemann FC - FSCMZ from getting behind. After some careless play in the Vila Nova GO defense, Eustacio Hotz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celsinho Capixaba. The Vila Nova GO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celsinho Capixaba should have stopped the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Vila Nova GO's goalkeeper Celsinho Capixaba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eustacio Hotz. João Vítor Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Heidemann having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 60thth minute of the game Eustacio Hotz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vila Nova GO's Celsinho Capixaba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Heidemann FC - FSCMZ's Luiz Heidemann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Heidemann FC - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. Luiz Heidemann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betinho Meireles in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65th minute of the match, Luís Guilherme Guedes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luiz Heidemann saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Heidemann FC - FSCMZ's Eustacio Hotz got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute Cafu Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Heidemann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Eustacio Hotz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Daniel Marquez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Heidemann was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. In the 87th minute, Cristian Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Heidemann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Marquez's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. The Vila Nova GO fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Vila Nova GO's Daniel Marquez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Many of Vila Nova GO's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Vila Nova GO may have spent more time on the ball, but Heidemann FC - FSCMZ were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
