After 19 minutes of play, Mamutes EC's Dave Panno made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Esen Sanal was left in no man's land by his defense there! 22 minutes into the match, Mamutes EC's Dave Panno sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esen Sanal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dave Panno in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Esen Sanal saved S.E.R. Caxias do Sul from getting behind. Mamutes EC were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Valério Meireles took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Valério Meireles got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Esen Sanal quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 28 minutes into the match, Mamutes EC's goal looked a bit too open when Krisztián Véber came free, but Magno Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Magno Correia made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Lei Feng Yan sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Krisztián Véber in the 31st minute of play forced Mamutes EC's goalkeeper Magno Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute Dave Panno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esen Sanal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mamutes EC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Valério Meireles in the 39th minute. The corner led Mamutes EC's Amadeu Rocha to fire away a dangerous shot which Esen Sanal despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Krisztián Véber could shoot a difficult shot in the 41st minute, which Magno Correia however easily saved by the left post. Esen Sanal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Panno in the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, Mamutes EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lejf Snefog to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dave Panno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Caxias do Sul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esen Sanal should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Valdo Dantas could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Esen Sanal however easily saved by the left post. Mamutes EC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's much stronger midfield.
