The supporters of Argentinos Juniors booed when Fabiancho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guaberto Odol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Omar Martxel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dante Jaizki, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Argentinos Juniors's zone, Raimundo Kauldi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Delfino came out of the goal and Raimundo Kauldi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paulino Beltran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raimundo Kauldi struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Hugo Delfino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fabiancho. When Antonio Cordarrell fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Argentinos Juniors's protests and gave Antonio Cordarrell a yellow card for diving instead. After 22 played minutes Argentinos Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Cordarrell. Dante Jaizki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Anibal Dorio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Omar Martxel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Omar Martxel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Dante Jaizki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 42 played minutes Fabiancho got a freekick which was hit by Leon Hartz. Omar Martxel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dante Jaizki in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raimundo Kauldi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dante Jaizki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Omar Martxel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's Dante Jaizki sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Omar Martxel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Omar Martxel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dante Jaizki in the 84th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antonio Cordarrell in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Omar Martxel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Omar Martxel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dante Jaizki went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Argentinos Juniors had played much better football throughout.
