An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicasio Abalos in the 2nd minute of play forced Estudiantes DLP's goalkeeper Santos Dalmau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santos Dalmau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicasio Abalos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Estudiantes DLP's Santos Dalmau got control of the ball when Luciano Jakobe tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Amadeo Fresco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeo Fresco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amadeo Fresco might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ceferino Sanduru. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amadeo Fresco ran back to his position shaking his head. Amadeo Fresco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Ceferino Sanduru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 33 minutes, Luciano Jakobe made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Estudiantes DLP's Santos Dalmau tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Amadeo Fresco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeo Fresco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ceferino Sanduru having to make a save. If Amadeo Fresco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 44th minute, Desiderio Geofredo made a precise shot to the right of Ceferino Sanduru. Velez Sarsfield's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luciano Jakobe got free with Santos Dalmau in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Santos Dalmau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Jakobe, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 53rd minute Luciano Jakobe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santos Dalmau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th match minute, Estudiantes DLP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marciano Dacio to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute, Amadeo Fresco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santos Dalmau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddy Kemen in the 67th minute of the match. In the 70th minute Marciano Dacio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ceferino Sanduru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Ildefonso Eladio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ceferino Sanduru. Velez Sarsfield's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ildefonso Eladio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Amadeo Fresco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Velez Sarsfield getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Domingo Bazil hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the match, Estudiantes DLP's Lucio Bernaldo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ceferino Sanduru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Anselmo Chumo charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anselmo Chumo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Carolo Sendoa fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Velez Sarsfield's protests and gave Carolo Sendoa a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Estudiantes DLP booed when Velez Sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carolo Sendoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Amadeo Fresco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Velez Sarsfield fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Estudiantes DLP were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
