The audience was convinced that Emiliano Berenguer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victoriano Nuñez was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. After 56 minutes of play, Deportivo Muñiz's Herminio Mergildo made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Florentino Maties's late challenge caught a Manantial's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Florentino Maties helped the player get up and apologised. 99 minutes into the game, one of Deportivo Muñiz:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Deportivo Muñiz:s Victoriano Nuñez showed great skill when he stopped Miguel Laffitte:s penalty.
