The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Anier Enol fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Anier Enol a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Reyes FC booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anier Enol didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 12th minute by Denis Ramirez got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Salvador Caetano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teobaldo Ourente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Albano Quinten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Reyes FC's zone, Teobaldo Ourente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albano Quinten came out of the goal and Teobaldo Ourente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 18th minute of the match, Celso Romildo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benjamin Dolcet saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With his leg Benjamin Dolcet managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when Reyes FC's Denis Ramirez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Teobaldo Ourente's late challenge caught a Reyes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teobaldo Ourente helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd minute, Teobaldo Ourente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 24 played minutes Reyes FC got a freekick which was hit by Serafino Mogel. The audience thought a goal was coming when Denis Ramirez got free with Benjamin Dolcet in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Denis Ramirez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for River Plate! Serafino Mogel shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Denis Ramirez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Dolcet having to interfere. Benjamin Dolcet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Denis Ramirez in the 39th minute. Benjamin Dolcet made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Denis Ramirez sent off a good shot on target. Bartolo Oro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Salvador Caetano came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salvador Caetano couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Denis Ramirez made the kick off in the second half. Benjamin Dolcet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Ramirez in the 56th minute of play. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Anier Enol the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of River Plate protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Anier Enol had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 90 minutes into the game, one of River Plate:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. For all the effort they put into the match, the River Plate players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Reyes FC.
