Spectators: 7101 (Terracing: 5327, Seating: 1633, VIP seats: 141) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Melquiades Locaio kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, BanfieldTuTe's Edelmiro Fagondo got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 7th minute, Martin Leizarraga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Melquiades Locaio got free with Gilberto Fanuco in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute, Melquiades Locaio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Melquiades Locaios short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Gilberto Fanuco to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Benicio Abaunza charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benicio Abaunza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th match minute, Merced was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benicio Abaunza to maneuver through the defense. Alexandr Denk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Melquiades Locaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Feliberto Flores might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Federico Iratze. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Feliberto Flores ran back to his position shaking his head. Merced's Benicio Abaunza got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilberto Fanuco made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Georg Wall sent off a good shot on target. Melquiades Locaio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Gilberto Fanuco made a huge save. 47 minutes into the game, Feliberto Flores cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Federico Iratze was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martin Leizarraga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Melquiades Locaio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilberto Fanuco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. The supporters of BanfieldTuTe booed when Merced was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Leizarraga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilberto Fanuco came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by BanfieldTuTe's Melquiades Locaio. But to his dismay, Melquiades Locaio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After 60 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Merced! An unexpectedly hard shot by Melquiades Locaio in the 66th minute of play forced Merced's goalkeeper Gilberto Fanuco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alexandr Denk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the game, Feliberto Flores cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Federico Iratze was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Federico Atauri was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 74 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, BanfieldTuTe's Federico Atauri got a free kick in the 75th minute. Georg Wall's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilberto Fanuco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Georg Wall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Fanuco having to interfere. In the 100th minute, Georg Wall made a precise shot to the right of Gilberto Fanuco. Merced's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-4.
