Samuel Jorrin kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, Samuel Jorrin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Agustín Saha. C.A. Independiente's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Samuel Jorrin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 13th play minute Julio Lluterio came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Zeledon Abilio. 2-1. A collision led to C.A. Independiente getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Rodolfo Matthew hit a great ball. C.A. Independiente's Agustín Saha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Jorrin in the 17th minute of play. Agustín Saha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Perico in the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Samuel Jorrin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agustín Saha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Jorrin in the 23rd minute of play forced C.A. Independiente's goalkeeper Agustín Saha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Eulalio Darien notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Atlético Santa Fe FC's Zeledon Abilio. Zeledon Abilio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Felix Osoro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rodolfo Matthew received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Zeledon Abilio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodolfo Matthew's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 46thth minute, Zeledon Abilio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Felix Osoro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Felix Osoro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agustín Saha having to interfere. Agustín Saha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elias Dolfo, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Samuel Jorrin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Agustín Saha made a huge save. 61 minutes into the match, Atlético Santa Fe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Matthew came free, but Zeledon Abilio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elias Dolfo during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Atlético Santa Fe FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Elias Dolfo hit a great ball. Zeledon Abilio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio Lluterio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. C.A. Independiente's Paulo Salvadore got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rodolfo Matthew took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zeledon Abilio. Zeledon Abilio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Agustín Saha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Osoro, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 85 minutes into the game, C.A. Independiente's Eulalio Darien nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zeledon Abilio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. In the 93rd minute Rodolfo Matthew shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Abilio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel Jorrin hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. There was no doubt that C.A. Independiente were the better team. C.A. Independiente's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
