Placido Egoitz came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Machigasta's Alfredo Cordareo. But to his dismay, Alfredo Cordareo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Hermengildo Orlo scored 0-3 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Placido Egoitz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 23rd minute, Machigasta's Raul Mateus seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Raul Mateus the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Machigasta protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Raul Mateus had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Machigasta fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Katrinita fc a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Modesto Polentzi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Machigasta's David Pabla. 1-3. Modesto Polentzi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. David Pabla made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Valentin Caetano sent off a good shot on target. Edgardo Peyo kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Valentin Caetano struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. David Pabla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Katrinita fc. In the 33rd minute Gaston Berasko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Placido Egoitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th match minute, Katrinita fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Jaen to maneuver through the defense. If Gaston Berasko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaston Berasko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Placido Egoitz having to interfere. Placido Egoitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Peyo in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gaston Berasko was the one to do the kick off. Machigasta's David Pabla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Caetano in the 55th minute of play. In the 63rd minute Edgardo Peyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Placido Egoitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Katrinita fc's goalkeeper Placido Egoitz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gaston Berasko. When Katrinita fc's Modesto Polentzi in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Machigasta's goalie prevented a goal. Modesto Polentzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Pabla having to interfere. After having played for 75 minutes, Valentin Caetano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Katrinita fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentin Caetano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Machigasta's David Pabla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Caetano in the 80th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Machigasta's goal looked a bit too open when Modesto Polentzi came free, but David Pabla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Placido Egoitz was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Edgardo Peyo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edgardo Peyo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-6. The crowd rose to their feet as Edgardo Peyo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Placido Egoitz. That made the score 1-7 in the 91 minute of play. With a little luck, Katrinita fc's Placido Egoitz got control of the ball when Gaston Berasko tried to sneak it across the goal line.
