In the 13th match minute, Borussia Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genaro Koldobika to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braulio Txurio in the 16th minute of play forced Candelaria AFC's goalkeeper Ubaldo Tximitx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Braulio Txurio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ubaldo Tximitx read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Candelaria AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Placido Goren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Braulio Txurio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 78th minute. Ubaldo Tximitx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Erubiel Fonda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erubiel Fonda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Ubaldo Tximitx made a huge save. Candelaria AFC's Ubaldo Tximitx proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save Candelaria AFC from getting a goal against them. Despite being the better team, Borussia Dortmund failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
