After 7 minutes, Igor Ramos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rosario Central and the Velez Sarsfield players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th match minute, Rosario Central was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Ramos to maneuver through the defense. 8 minutes into the game, Velez Sarsfield's Israel Bilbo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cristian Igon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Amadeo Vela's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristian Igon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Oscar Santana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rosario Central fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 22ndth minute of the game Israel Bilbo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rosario Central's Cristian Igon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Rosario Central getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Cosme Ferman hit a great ball. After 24 minutes, Cosme Ferman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rosario Central and the Velez Sarsfield players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 25 played minutes Rosario Central got a freekick which was hit by Cosme Ferman. Israel Bilbo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Israel Bilbo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristian Igon was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Israel Bilbo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristian Igon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Amadeo Vela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Igon having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Israel Bilbo in the 42nd minute of play forced Rosario Central's goalkeeper Cristian Igon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Israel Bilbo took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristian Igon. Cristian Igon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. After the first half Velez Sarsfield were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oscar Santana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rosario Central were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after Velez Sarsfield's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Faustino Piarres took the corner. Israel Bilbo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Cristian Igon when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Oscar Santana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Luciano Lluc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Rosario Central's Paulo Raymond got a free kick in the 69th minute. Velez Sarsfield's Israel Bilbo got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Igor Ramos was shown his second yellow card after 73 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Rosario Central's Igor Ramos got a free kick in the 74th minute. With a little luck, Rosario Central's Cristian Igon got control of the ball when Israel Bilbo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Israel Bilbo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Igon had great luck who in the 82ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Amadeo Vela from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post.
