Ombucta's Lázaro Gimenez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Ombucta from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Edwardo Haslett put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Lázaro Gimenez. In the 16th minute, Edwardo Haslett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. In the 30th match minute, Ombucta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damaso Giro to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the game, Eliseo Firmo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ombucta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rapanui the free kick. Eliseo Firmo kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Ambrosio Bemabe hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Evaristo Jerico made a kick off. The Rapanui fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Rapanui's Edwardo Haslett looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 57 minutes into the game, Teodosio Totakoxe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rapanui's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ombucta the free kick. If Evaristo Jerico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Rapanui fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Rapanui's Edwardo Haslett looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Edwardo Haslett put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Lázaro Gimenez. Lázaro Gimenez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwardo Haslett in the 72nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edwardo Haslett in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lázaro Gimenez saved Ombucta from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edwardo Haslett in the 77th minute of play forced Ombucta's goalkeeper Lázaro Gimenez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lázaro Gimenez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Candido Gonza went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to Ombucta getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Cícero Abreu hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute of the match Urbano Uhin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lázaro Gimenez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Rapanui's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
