Ciro Olivar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. When Ildefonso Chico fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lomitas's protests and gave Ildefonso Chico a yellow card for diving instead. Ildefonso Chico hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Ciro Olivar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ildefonso Chico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomás Berto to make the kick off. If Baltasar Txerran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Baltasar Txerran fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ciro Olivar, passed just outside the right post. Patricio Tiniebra took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ciro Olivar. Instituto Imperial's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ciro Olivar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltasar Txerran in the 90th minute of the match. Tomás Berto might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciro Olivar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomás Berto ran back to his position shaking his head. Tomás Bertos short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Ciro Olivar to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Haroldo Aimar charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Haroldo Aimar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Haroldo Aimar kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. In the 97th minute, Tomás Berto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ciro Olivar was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4.
