With an extended leg and a bit of luck Osvaldo Medina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Osvaldo Medina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodosio Eusko, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Nicolas Isias took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Osvaldo Medina. Barra da Lagoa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. EL LEON FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogelio Federigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Mauricio Nerio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Osvaldo Medina, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fran Andreoli in the 89th minute of play forced EL LEON FC's goalkeeper Malcolm Holt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rogelio Federigo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mauricio Nerio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. EL LEON FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
