He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chañarmuyo reached it. Tomas Ishmael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baldomero Hodei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Banfield's Tomas Ishmael proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Banfield from getting a goal against them. Blas Venceslao was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 25 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Banfield:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chañarmuyo:s goal. When the match had been going on for 27 minutes, Chañarmuyo's Ciro Harriet got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Tomas Ishmael. Tomas Ishmael made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomero Hodei in the 30th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Tomas Ishmael successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tomas Ishmael made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ovidio Anaya in the 38th minute. The audience was convinced that Baldomero Hodei's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomas Ishmael was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Banfield's Tomas Ishmael proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Banfield from getting a goal against them. Tomas Ishmael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baldomero Hodei in the 45th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baldomero Hodei made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Baldomero Hodei made a precise shot to the right of Tomas Ishmael. Banfield's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 57th minute Baldomero Hodei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Ishmael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baldomero Hodei recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ovidio Anaya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Tomas Ishmael tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arturo Montxo kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute Baldomero Hodei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Ishmael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Banfield's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
