The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cesar Nastasio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Valentin Millan made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cesar Nastasio got free with Valentin Millan in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th minute, Cesar Nastasio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valentin Millan was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Maximo Gaueko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisito Urritz in the 25th minute of play. Pichuco FCO's Valentin Millan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Bartoleme in the 26th minute of play. If Jeremias Belo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Valentin Millan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesar Nastasio, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 35th minute, Sergio Oliviero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maximo Gaueko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Aznar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the match, Independiente Olavarria's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Aznar came free, but Maximo Gaueko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Bartoleme in the 68th minute of play forced Pichuco FCO's goalkeeper Valentin Millan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Independiente Olavarria fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pichuco FCO had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
