In the 14th minute, Aquiles Ruisko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, Saprissa Futbol's goal looked a bit too open when Godofredo Jokin came free, but Feliciano Isadore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute Godofredo Jokin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Feliciano Isadore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cosme Beremundo scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Feliciano Isadore, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Godofredo Jokin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Feliciano Isadore was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Feliciano Isadore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godofredo Jokin in the 27th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, Saprissa Futbol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnulfo Garcia to maneuver through the defense. Feliciano Isadore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godofredo Jokin in the 41st minute of play. Pascual Kemen's late challenge caught a Lugano C.F.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pascual Kemen helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lugano C.F. booed when Saprissa Futbol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascual Kemen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Godofredo Jokin to make the kick off. Rigoberto Fidele recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cosme Beremundo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Feliciano Isadore made a huge save. Feliciano Isadore made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Cosme Beremundo sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Saprissa Futbol's Feliciano Isadore got control of the ball when Cosme Beremundo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Feliciano Isadore made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cosme Beremundo in the 66th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Aquiles Ruisko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Feliciano Isadore. A hard shot 78 in the game by Aquiles Ruisko from a close distance when the talented Feliciano Isadore managed to make a qualified save. Saprissa Futbol's players were relieved. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saprissa Futbol's goalkeeper Feliciano Isadore, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Saprissa Futbol's zone, Cosme Beremundo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Feliciano Isadore came out of the goal and Cosme Beremundo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cosme Beremundo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Feliciano Isadore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aquiles Ruisko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Saprissa Futbol fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Lugano C.F. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
