In the 14th minute, Joel Etxepare hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Vamos a Volver's zone, Narciso Bernabel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Higinio Gabino came out of the goal and Narciso Bernabel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Narciso Bernabel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Luisiana's supporters rose to their feet, but Narciso Bernabel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Higinio Gabino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Florencio Dubardo charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Florencio Dubardo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Higinio Gabino came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Luisiana's Danilo Lucero. But to his dismay, Danilo Lucero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 25th match minute, Vamos a Volver was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florencio Dubardo to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute, Danilo Lucero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28th minute, Denis Abella hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Higinio Gabino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Bernabel in the 30th minute of play. Danilo Lucero struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Higinio Gabino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Luisiana. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danilo Lucero couldn't finish the play. Melchor Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Luisiana were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Narciso Bernabel to strike the kick off in the second half. When Narciso Bernabel came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Luisiana fans jumped to their feet. Vamos a Volver's Higinio Gabino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narciso Bernabel in the 91st minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Luisiana walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
