Spectators: 6744 (Terracing: 5102, Seating: 1639, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Denis Abella started the match with the kick off. 9 minutes into the match, Leonides Pere had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Higinio Gabino. Vamos a Volver's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonides Pere was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Vamos a Volver's Higinio Gabino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Pere in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonides Pere in the 16th minute of play forced Vamos a Volver's goalkeeper Higinio Gabino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Higinio Gabino was a little too slow when Leonides Pere got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 3-0. Everardo Argi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Abella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute Leonides Pere shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Gabino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Higinio Gabino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonides Pere in the 32nd minute of the match. Justo Etxekopar kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 35thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Vamos a Volver's keeper Higinio Gabino was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Higinio Gabino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anselmo Bertin went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonides Pere was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes of play, River Plate's Leonides Pere made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Higinio Gabino was left in no man's land by his defense there! Higinio Gabino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonides Pere in the 57th minute of play. Leonides Pere sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The River Plate fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when River Plate's Justo Etxekopar looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Higinio Gabino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonides Pere in the 66th minute of play. Leonides Pere received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Higinio Gabino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Justo Etxekopar came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Justo Etxekopar couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute of the match, Denis Abella tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Everardo Argi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Leonides Pere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Higinio Gabino having to interfere. A collision led to Vamos a Volver getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Melchor Abreu hit a great ball. River Plate's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
