Traful AFC's Bernardino Maura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Mitxaut in the 27th minute of play. If Leonides Selmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardino Maura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonides Selmo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernardino Maura didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juan Timo went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 41st minute of the match Zeledon Playo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bernardino Maura skillfully saved the ball. In the 43rd match minute, El Brandy Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnulfo Olando to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonides Selmo made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Juan Timo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bernardino Maura. The goal made the score 0-2. 57 minutes into the game, Prudencio Bautista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bernardino Maura firmly grabbed it by the left post. Leonides Selmo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Bernardino Maura made a huge save. Arnoldo Ekhi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Venancio Eriz's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. In the 84th minute Leonides Selmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardino Maura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Saverio Felipillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Juan Timo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Blas Silviano during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of El Brandy Chile booed when Traful AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blas Silviano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan Timo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardino Maura read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 99th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched El Brandy Chile eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
