After having played for 14 minutes, Lucio Oihan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gracias Señor Pastoriza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucio Oihan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Norino in the 15th minute of play forced Vélez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Alfredo Rodriguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Rodolfo Norino sped through Vélez Sarsfield's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alfredo Rodriguez. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Alfredo Rodriguez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 26 minutes into the game, Gracias Señor Pastoriza's Rodolfo Norino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfredo Rodriguez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Amancio Ilixo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Rodriguez having to interfere. 35 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Norino recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alfredo Rodriguez. Rodolfo Norino showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodolfo Norino to make the kick off. When Martin Elequemedo fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vélez Sarsfield's protests and gave Martin Elequemedo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vélez Sarsfield getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Martin Elequemedo hit a great ball. If Rodolfo Norino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Vélez Sarsfield's Ovidio Iigo got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Alfredo Rodriguez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amancio Ilixo in the 67th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Norino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredo Rodriguez. Vélez Sarsfield's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodolfo Norino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Rodolfo Norino charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodolfo Norino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gracias Señor Pastoriza's Rodolfo Norino got a free kick in the 76th minute. Gracias Señor Pastoriza's Aquilino Pacho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Gracias Señor Pastoriza from getting a goal against them. Vélez Sarsfield's Alfredo Rodriguez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Norino in the 81st minute of play. In the 87th minute, Rodolfo Norino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Jose Abechuco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vélez Sarsfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Jose Abechuco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquilino Pacho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 90th minute, Martin Elequemedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Vélez Sarsfield players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gracias Señor Pastoriza.
