Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aristides Berriotxoa in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Romeo Panțâru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Umberto Vasconcelos's late challenge caught a Independiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Los Viciosos got a freekick which was hit by Ovidio Calixto. In the 40th minute Aristides Berriotxoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Panțâru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aristides Berriotxoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Panțâru having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnulfo Benvido to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damaso Sein in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romeo Panțâru saved Independiente from getting behind. Isidoro Cristos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mauro Bazkoare hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Arnulfo Benvido charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arnulfo Benvido the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Virgilio Orlandus got a throw-in 91 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Santiago Mero. Aristides Berriotxoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Romeo Panțâru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Los Viciosos had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
