Brent Mckinnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Lluis having to interfere. Oscar Lluis came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by ESCALADA FC's Jonathan Gaskon. But to his dismay, Jonathan Gaskon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Artur Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Oscar Lluis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Villa Ortúzar's zone, Venancio Cordarryl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Lluis came out of the goal and Venancio Cordarryl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oscar Lluis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emanuel Daunte to strike the kick off in the second half. Oscar Lluis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diaba Di Natale in the 57th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonardo Beturian during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Venancio Cordarryl's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oscar Lluis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Venancio Cordarryl was extremely unlucky when he, in the 71st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 74 minutes into the match, ESCALADA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Abad came free, but Sebastián Torrico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Artur Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oscar Lluis made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Diaba Di Natale sent off a good shot on target. Venancio Cordarryl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute.
