The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Martin Orlan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independiente F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villa Ortúzar the free kick. In the 2nd minute, Martin Orlan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Independiente F.C booed when Villa Ortúzar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Arnas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Independiente F.C's Eriberto Franco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natalio Chinto in the 7th minute of play. Eriberto Franco came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Villa Ortúzar's Natalio Chinto. But to his dismay, Natalio Chinto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 18 minutes into the game, Niceto Sotero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Villa Ortúzar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independiente F.C the free kick. Independiente F.C's Eriberto Franco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natalio Chinto in the 26th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Independiente F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Natalio Chinto came free, but Eriberto Franco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 33 minutes, Natalio Chinto made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Independiente F.C's Eriberto Franco tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Independiente F.C's Martin Orlan got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 40 played minutes Villa Ortúzar got a freekick which was hit by Natalio Chinto. Eriberto Franco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natalio Chinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute Natalio Chinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Franco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emanuel Daunte in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eriberto Franco saved Independiente F.C from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emanuel Daunte to make the kick off. Eriberto Franco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natalio Chinto, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Emanuel Daunte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 58 minutes into the match, Natalio Chinto notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Independiente F.C's Eriberto Franco. Eriberto Franco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Independiente F.C getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Jesus Benet hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Daunte in the 79th minute of play forced Independiente F.C's goalkeeper Eriberto Franco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Natalio Chinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Eriberto Franco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the game, Independiente F.C's Martin Orlan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oscar Lluis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The supporters of Villa Ortúzar booed when Independiente F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Benet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eriberto Franco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Daunte in the 88th minute of the match. Martin Orlan struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Oscar Lluis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente F.C. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Villa Ortúzar had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
