Benito Kala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Joanes having to interfere. Haroldo Joanes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon Txilar in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th match minute, Icaño AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Salomon to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Icaño AFC's zone, Benito Kala stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haroldo Joanes came out of the goal and Benito Kala tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Godofredo Elixio fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Icaño AFC's protests and gave Godofredo Elixio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Godofredo Elixio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Kala recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabio Cordarrel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruno Jaume in the 42nd minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ramon Txilar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Haroldo Joanes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benito Kala's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. In the 88th minute, Benito Kala got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 96 minutes, Ramon Txilar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Navia and the Icaño AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 96th minute, Ramon Txilar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Navia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Icaño AFC.
