Palermo's Ruperto Bastia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anastasio Domeka in the 14th minute of play. A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Ramiro Valiente hit a great ball. SAN DIEGO's Feliberto Endura couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 18th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Palermo. 24 minutes into the match, Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Anastasio Domeka came free, but Ruperto Bastia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Branco came free, but Ruperto Bastia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Filomeno Gartxot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Petri in the 30th minute of the match. Palermo's Ruperto Bastia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Palermo from getting a goal against them. In the 40thth minute of the game Anastasio Domeka who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palermo's Ruperto Bastia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Leopoldo Burutzagi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of SAN DIEGO booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonel Teodor didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sergio Petri was the one to do the kick off. Anastasio Domeka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Bastia having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amador Pabla during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ruperto Bastia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SAN DIEGO. Anastasio Domeka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruperto Bastia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Palermo made a substitution. Lorenzo Sugar replaced Leonel Teodor. In the 73rd match minute, Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amador Pabla to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anastasio Domeka in the 76th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Ruperto Bastia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 79 played minutes Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Sugar. In the 82nd minute, Godofredo Atarrabi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute Jacinto Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruperto Bastia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lorenzo Sugar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ruperto Bastia came out of the goal and Anastasio Domeka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SAN DIEGO fully deserved thier win.
