Laureano Mateo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raul Nafarroa went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Qwinton in the 14th minute of play forced C.A. Independiente's goalkeeper Adolfo Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.A. Independiente's Adolfo Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucio Dantel in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Dantel in the 20th minute of play forced C.A. Independiente's goalkeeper Adolfo Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saturnino Tano charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saturnino Tano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 22nd minute, Saturnino Tano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Raul Nafarroa came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the C.A. Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raul Nafarroa couldn't finish the play. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raul Nafarroa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adrian Primeiro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Laureano Mateo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Raul Nafarroas short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Laureano Mateo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 37th minute Marco Qwinton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adolfo Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raul Nafarroa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laureano Mateo having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Unión's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Nafarroa came free, but Laureano Mateo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raul Nafarroa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Pedro Kemen in the 54th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by C.A. Independiente's Adolfo Haritzeder. Raul Nafarroa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Laureano Mateo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57thth minute of the game Adolfo Haritzeder who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atlético Unión's Laureano Mateo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Qwinton got free with Adolfo Santana in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marco Qwinton succeeded in the game's 60th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Lucio Dantel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lucio Dantel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raul Nafarroa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adolfo Santana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lucio Dantel in the 87th minute. Raul Nafarroa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Qwinton got free with Adolfo Santana in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. C.A. Independiente were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
