During the 20th minute of the match Fabio Fernanco completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Fabio Fernanco a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 21 played minutes FC Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Fernanco. Apolo Amor scored 1-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruperto Noe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Peruxu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dante Laurendi in the 28th minute of play. When Bartolo Nesto came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Toledo AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bartolo Nesto couldn't finish the play. In the 36th match minute, FC Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edelmiro Xabat to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute of the match Lino Cordeiro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristian Peruxu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
