The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Primitivo Calisto took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gaudencio Piarres. Gaudencio Piarres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The corner led to Cerrito FC's Amado Millan getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucas Bertol in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aquiles Reyes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vilela's Gaudencio Piarres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmyr Paes in the 43rd minute of play. If Honorato Ursino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the game, Daniel Figueiredo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Aquiles Reyes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 55th minute, Primitivo Calisto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Cerrito FC's Teodosio Guzman got a free kick in the 59th minute. Aquiles Reyes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lucas Bertol in the 61st minute. Gaudencio Piarres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Honorato Ursino, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Vilela's zone, Primitivo Calisto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaudencio Piarres came out of the goal and Primitivo Calisto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 73 minutes, Cipriano Cugat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cerrito FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cipriano Cugat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aquiles Reyes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Figueiredo in the 75th minute. After 81 minutes, Epifanio Oinaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vilela and the Cerrito FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Vilela getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Epifanio Oinaz hit a great ball. Ulises Frisco kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Vilela defense, Walmyr Paes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gaudencio Piarres. The Vilela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gaudencio Piarres should have stopped the shot. Cerrito FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
