Cerrito FC's Walmyr Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 41 minutes into the game, Cerrito FC's Honorato Ursino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joaquin Corderall made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Honorato Ursino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cerrito FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Honorato Ursino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Corderall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pietro Viqueira was the one to do the kick off. After 55 minutes, Walmyr Paes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cerrito FC and the Plaza Roja 1917 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cerrito FC's Walmyr Paes got a free kick in the 55th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Primitivo Calisto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. In the 78th minute, Walmyr Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Cerrito FC's Amado Millan got a free kick in the 80th minute. Oscar Bartoleme took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aquiles Reyes. Cerrito FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Plaza Roja 1917's Joaquin Corderall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Primitivo Calisto in the 87th minute of play. Cerrito FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Primitivo Calisto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Corderall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee ended the match the Cerrito FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
