If Tiburcio Efren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Lluciano stood somewhat misplaced when Gustavo Tiadoro came free in front of goal and shot 4-0 to the left of him in the 23 minute. After 25 played minutes Avellaneda FC got a freekick which was hit by Javier Sendoa. Avellaneda FC's Vicente Lluciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Fagildo in the 30th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tiburcio Efren to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustavo Tiadoro in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vicente Lluciano saved Avellaneda FC from getting behind. The Ballester F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when Ballester F.C.'s Gustavo Tiadoro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 81 minutes into the game, Abel Fagildo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Vicente Lluciano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Abel Fagildo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vicente Lluciano having to make a save. Tiburcio Efren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Vicente Lluciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
