The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Gimnasia de Necochea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benito Erramu to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Gimnasia de Necochea defense, Angelo Tabor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lucio Gorri. The Gimnasia de Necochea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucio Gorri should have stopped the shot. With an all-out effort, Gimnasia de Necochea's Dalmacio Cordareo threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Julian Louis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Gimnasia de Necochea getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Benito Erramu hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, HeroesOfNewerth's Francisco Guib tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Dalmacio Cordareo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Tabb in the 23rd minute of play. Dalmacio Cordareo made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Atilano Lico sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Atilano Lico got free with Dalmacio Cordareo in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Angelo Tabor fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored HeroesOfNewerth's protests and gave Angelo Tabor a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Angelo Tabor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dalmacio Cordareo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Tabb, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Atilano Lico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Dalmacio Cordareo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sebastian Jacob had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Julian Louis during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gimnasia de Necochea's Julian Louis got a free kick in the 44th minute. A collision led to Gimnasia de Necochea getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Maximo Mede hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfredo Tabb stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, HeroesOfNewerth's goal looked a bit too open when Atilano Lico came free, but Dalmacio Cordareo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaudencio Rameriz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 56thth minute, Lucio Gorri skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 58th play minutes Bruno Pasquarelli shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Lucio Gorri and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 63rd minute Julian Louis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmacio Cordareo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. HeroesOfNewerth's Dalmacio Cordareo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Tabb in the 64th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Gimnasia de Necochea's goalkeeper Lucio Gorri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruno Pasquarelli. In the 75thth minute of the game Gaudencio Rameriz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gimnasia de Necochea's Lucio Gorri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 76th minute, HeroesOfNewerth's Sebastian Jacob ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lucio Gorri. Lucio Gorri yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atilano Lico in the 79th minute of play forced HeroesOfNewerth's goalkeeper Dalmacio Cordareo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Gaudencio Rameriz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lucio Gorri. That made the score 0-4 in the 83 minute of play. Dalmacio Cordareo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atilano Lico, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Gimnasia de Necochea's goal looked a bit too open when Gaudencio Rameriz came free, but Lucio Gorri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruno Pasquarelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dalmacio Cordareo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atilano Lico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Gimnasia de Necochea's Julian Louis got a free kick in the 96th minute. The HeroesOfNewerth supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing HeroesOfNewerth would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
