The supporters of El Tumor del Gato III booed when ATLETICO RIO4 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Curcio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teofilo Lucado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Beturian having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornelio Garin in the 17th minute of play forced ATLETICO RIO4's goalkeeper Basilio Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basilio Moreira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Denis Mercurio's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Artemio Alvarez managed to get in a good position for a shot. ATLETICO RIO4's supporters rose to their feet, but Artemio Alvarez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergio Beturian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cornelio Garin struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. After 47 played minutes ATLETICO RIO4 got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Teyo. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Teofilo Lucado made the kick off in the second half. Marcos Gaskon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elias Beliran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basilio Moreira having to interfere. Sergio Beturian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artemio Alvarez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Armando Cordaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Marcos Gaskon made a precise shot to the right of Basilio Moreira. ATLETICO RIO4's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0.
