A collision led to Sauce getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Zacarias Blasi hit a great ball. Argentinos Juniors's Robustiano Tximitx quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jesus Garaona, made in the 13th minute of the game. Arnoldo Lesardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robustiano Tximitx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 minutes, Lino Remigio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sauce and the Argentinos Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Sauce getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Lino Remigio hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victor Afonso in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnoldo Lesardo saved Sauce from getting behind. 21 minutes into the game, Argentinos Juniors's Célio Sena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnoldo Lesardo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After some careless play in the Sauce defense, Victor Afonso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnoldo Lesardo. The Sauce fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnoldo Lesardo should have stopped the shot. Isaac Guter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aureliano Roderigo in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st minute Aureliano Roderigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaac Guter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Sauce defense, Josias Japón kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnoldo Lesardo. Victor Afonsos short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Arnoldo Lesardo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Arnoldo Lesardo was a little too slow when Victor Afonso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 4-0. Arnoldo Lesardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Afonso in the 46th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Afonso was the one to do the kick off. Samuel Blai's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnoldo Lesardo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Josias Japón fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Lesardo having to interfere. After 60 minutes of play, Argentinos Juniors's Victor Afonso made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnoldo Lesardo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arnoldo Lesardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Afonso, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Josias Japón fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Lesardo having to interfere.
