The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Pico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesar Tipi to maneuver through the defense. In the 7thth minute of the game Anier Padro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pico's Pedro Gaitano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of EL CUERVO DE TARIJA booed when Pico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Estevez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Gaitano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anier Padro in the 16th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Hermengildo Azubeli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Blas Benet. EL CUERVO DE TARIJA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hermengildo Azubeli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Hermengildo Azubeli struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Blas Benet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pico. Blas Benet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hermengildo Azubeli in the 36th minute. When Hermengildo Azubeli came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Pico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermengildo Azubeli couldn't finish the play. Claudio Arlo took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Gaitano. Pedro Gaitano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hermengildo Azubeli to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Pico's Nereo Jaen broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Claudio Arlo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Gaitano having to interfere. In the 60th minute, one of Pico:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pico. Pedro Gaitano had in the 62ndth minute some difficulties stopping Rolando Ayala's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Anier Padro came free with the goalkeeper in the 64th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Pedro Gaitano could save by the left post. Pedro Gaitano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Arlo, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 72 minutes into the game, one of EL CUERVO DE TARIJA:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Artemio Unai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Blas Benet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 80 played minutes Pico got a freekick which was hit by Nereo Jaen. Pico's Pedro Gaitano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Pico from getting a goal against them. Nereo Jaen hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Anier Padro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Arlo in the 100th minute of play forced Pico's goalkeeper Pedro Gaitano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
