Fernández's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paolo Maxin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugeniusz Bulkiewicz in the 28th minute of play forced Fernández's goalkeeper Anibal Jenaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joakim Blixt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damaso Medero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Armando Natal during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
