But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Federico Montrel couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Rosario AFC's zone, Hilario Bertol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damaso Nofre came out of the goal and Hilario Bertol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arrecifes's Gavino Estebe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Arrecifes from getting a goal against them. Federico Montrel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 44thth minute, Gavino Estebe skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rosario AFC's Damaso Nofre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogelio Bastiaro in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hilario Bertol stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Federico Montrel in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gavino Estebe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Ezequiel Goiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Arrecifes's Rogelio Bastiaro got a free kick in the 59th minute. The audience was convinced that Federico Montrel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gavino Estebe was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Federico Montrel in the 68th minute of play forced Arrecifes's goalkeeper Gavino Estebe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee ignored Rosario AFC's protests and gave Mario Erramun a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th match minute, Rosario AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Erramun to maneuver through the defense. Federico Montrel might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gavino Estebe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Rosario AFC fully deserved thier win.
